Sydney Twi Con - Cast Pics with our Australian correspondent OzTwilightTwit

Our fabulous (& beautiful) Australian correspondent OzTwilightTwit (not her real name LOL) sent us her photos she had taken at the Sydney Twilight Convention yesterday, with Chaske, Tinsel & Charley.

NEWS UPDATE - RE: Jonathan Ross (sort of) confirms RP for his show on 13th November

 *********NEWS UPDATE - 15th October 2009*********

The Irish Twilight Sisters was notified today, by Jonathan Ross, that Robert Pattinson will not be appearing on his show, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, in November, as was previously reported.

I can confirm that Jonathan had been looking forward to conducting the interview and had previously expressed to me that he hoped he could 'do a good job' for us fans, in the interview.

We can only assume the reason Robert had to pull out of the interview is due to other work commitments around the New Moon release, but we hope to bring you news of further interviews with Robert & other cast members are we receive it.

So, thru twitter I DM'd (Direct Message) Jonathan Ross of the BBC show 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' (UK) a few weeks ago. I told him some of the Twilight cast would be in London on the 11th of November for a Twi Fan event - details of which still have not been released by E1 entertainment. I asked Jonathan if any of the cast would be appearing on his show to promote the release of New Moon (show recorded on 12th Nov). Jonathan very kindly responded that RP may be appearing.

Tonight in response to my tweet that he should dress up as 'Edward Cullen' for Halloween (LOL), it appears he did confirm  RP's appearance....

NOW - I am advising you all not to go inundating the BBC or Jonathan for tickets to his show. Jonathan has already stated that he cannot get any. Also - there is currently a 6 month waiting list for tickets to any of Jonathans shows.
However, if you should be lucky to get tickets, please bring me!!

So set it up to record - Friday Night with Jonathon Ross - Friday 13th November and look out for a super sexy sparkly vampire.

Cheers, Bee.

Next up was the Q&A Session with Costumer - John Henson. Nothing new or worth mentioning here but he was a nice guy.

Just before lunch we had the Q&A Session with Chaske (Sam) and Tinsel (Emily)

(Squeee!)

* Chaske said it was good to play a werewolf but importantly to represent his people in a more contemporary setting. Instead of relying on feathers and tepees
* When asked about the scar, Tinsel said that vanity is only skin deep. What matters is the beauty inside. It originally took 8 hours to get the scar on her face and eventually, it went down to 2-3 hours.
* Tinsel said that she knows she is part of something big but the great cast who are all down to earth makes it easy. She is taking it all one day at a time
* Chaske said that it was really cold some days and the wolf pack spent most of their time in knee cut jeans (poor guys!). The rain machine would use warm water but it was cold by the time it hit their bodies. To keep warm, the boys would huddle behind a tree between takes with teeth chattering and when the director called 'action', they would instantly be all strong, tough and serious (a very stark contrast!)
* Interesting to note, both Tinsel and Chaske did not get Peter Facinelli 'card'
* Bless Chaske - he said that he would like to imprint on everybody in the room. Tinsel said that she believe in love at first site and that 'imprinting' goes a lot deeper than that
* Jacob has a little thing for grapes. The boys would try and throw them into his mouth.
* To become alpha male, he had already been working out at the Gym to keep fit. For New Moon, he had 'Wolf camp'. Gruelling working out regimes, 6 meals a day + protein shakes. It was intense but the boys bonded during that time (everyone girl squealed when Tinsel suggested Chaske show proof of his hard work by taking his shirt off)
* Both stars find the 'dolls' thing weird (the fact you can undress their dolls made in their image to see what's underneath is disturbing)
* A cute little girl asked is Chaske could growl like a wolf and he obliged - it was soooo sexy!!
* Hardest scene to shoot? Chaske: A cliff diving scene because he is afraid of heights. Emily: Campfire scene because it was pouring rain outside of a tent, freezing and a fire was burning within - little risky don't you think?
* If they had to choose to be a vampire character? Chaske: Carlisle. Tinsel: Jane
* Chaske met Stephanie Meyer and they talked a lot about music as both are very passionate about it (Chaske is a drummer!). He is also very impressed with the track listing for the New Moon Soundtrack
* If Tinsel was Bella, she would have chosen her favourite male actor- Paul Walker (*drools*). She did say Robert Pattinson was the perfect casting but if she had a choice...
* Kristen actually bruised Chaske in the scene where she pushes him back in the chest (she packs a punch!). He was so sore the day after

It was Lunch time... there was only one cafeteria open (the organisers could of worked something better our here)

Last Q&A Session was with the cheeky and hilarious Charlie Bewley.

The Englishman knew how to make us laugh which only made him more endearing.

He started by taking the piss and having some harmless fun at the expense of his fellow Volturi – namely Cam and Chris. This brought on bit of a food fight with the rest of the cast – Cam chased him around the stage, Tinsel threw gummy bears at him etc... you had to be there! I couldn’t stop cracking up!

* Charlie loves his character – Demetri. He knows that his character is the best of the best because he wouldn’t have been part of Aro’s crew (Volturi are the elite!)
* His favourite time on set was filming in Montepulciano – during the day chaos (small town on a hill filled with crew & fans) and at night, it was great hanging out/relaxing with some wine taking in the beautiful scenery.
* We all laughed at his elevator story. There was some trepidation whether he could reveal what he was about to tell us, but he just shrugged and told us anyway. There is a scene where some volturi (including Rob and Kristen) was crammed into a small elevator to take them all to the Volturi chamber. It was uncomfortable/awkward coz everyone was squeezed in and no one knew where to look when the director cried action!
* He thought the funniest person on set was Jamie Campbell Bower

I have to admit, I didn’t take many notes during this session because I was laughing too much. He was more a ‘one line man’ but short and sweet was definitely a treat with him!

There was some merchandise that went to auction for charity and I’m sure the organisers/ promoters are kicking themself for not announcing it sooner (they did it half way through) that it was a charity because that had a dismal first couple of auctions.

That was it!

It was my first tour/convention and will definitely do it again :) I just wish, like many today, that it wasn’t so expensive to attend!

Thanks to @OzTwilightTwit for her wonderful synopsis of the day and the pics.

@OzTwilightTwit 's blog of the day:

The day started off at 8:30am with standing in line on a cool Sunday morning, hoping that the heavens didn't open up whilst we waited outside. I didn't realise then, how many more times I’d have to 'stand in line'. A line to buy merchandise, tokens, for photos, the bathroom and even the vending machine to get a drink!
Once inside, I was took my seat and then it all started...

First up was photo time with all the cast members that came downunder:

Cameron Bright (Alec)
Christopher Heyerdahl (Marcus)
Charlie Bewley (Demitri)
Chaske Spencer (Sam)
Tinsel Korey (Emily)

(I got a photo with Chaske, Emily and Charlie - Squeee!!)

At 12pm, was the first Q&A session with Christopher (Chris) and Cameron (Cam).
The hilarity began from the get go. When Chris was being introduced to the stage, the cheers and claps died down because there was no Chris! The MC looked nervously to staff and then was informed that Mr Heyerdahl was in the bathroom! Everyone including the MC cracked up laughing.
There was some playful ribbing and bro hugs between Cam and Chris which had me in stitches. Chris is seriously one funny man!

So here's a quick summary of that session:
  • Chris says he knows its popular opinion that people think Marcus always looks bored thanks to Bella (she actually mentions this in the book). Chris explains that Marcus prefers to observe and take it all in. He isn't interested in Aro's games.
  • Yes, Marcus doesn’t say much but each word means something (quality rather than quantity)
  • Cam & Chris agree that the cast are close knit and they found it easy to join and be a part of the 'circle'
  • Cam - Working with Dakota was great and didn't really hang out too much between takes because both had to study with a tutor for school. Dakota was closer with Kristen because they were going to be working together again for The Runaways
  • From the edge of the stage, Charlie started 'spit balling' Cam - funny stuff!
  • Cam did a hilarious impression of Charlie saying "Charlie bit me" in an exaggerated English accent which cracked me up (guess you had to be there for that one)
  • If Cam and Chris could chose to play another character, Cam would be Jacob and Chris would choose Jane (big laughs from that one)
  • What it's like to be a vampire? Cam: clothes and the hand painted red contact lenses. Chris: Being able to twinkle in the sunlight lol
  • When asked which team - both boys said Team Jacob (although Alec did try it on with Team Volturi!)
  • Favourite scene? Chris: The only one we are in (roar of laughter followed that line)
  • If you can choose another power? Cam: Jane's power. Chris: Edward's - the gift of reading a woman’s mind
  • Any weird fan moments? Cam & Chris agree that the fans have been very nice. They do recall a funny moment in Brisbane. Two fans were following them and everytime Cam & Chris would turn around, the fans would try to hide or pretend that they weren't following them
  • Funniest moments on Set:
Cam: The Voluri 'float' so they need to be attached to a harness to be off the ground a few inches. Poor Dakota had a rather bushy path and keep getting knocked about by trees or thick bush (he reinacted it on stage and it was pretty funny)

Chris: As shown on the end of the latest trailer, you see Rob being thrown in the air and then onto steps (which explode at impact) inside the Volturi chamber. Well, As soon as the shoot as the director called cut, Rob, who is still on the floor amidst the rubble turns his head to Chris (Marcus) and says 'Those are really nice slippers, where did you get them? Very random!

PART 2 Coming up later today !!!
